Managing Director, CAMBORNE ENERGY STORAGE LTD
’Dan joined Camborne in 2015 bringing with him a wealth of experience in the energy and utilities sector, as well as the renewables and smart grid spaces, both across the UK and APAC regions. Having worked throughout the energy supply chain, Dan has supported a number of global leaders in areas such as demand side response, with the identification and creation of large demand side capacity schemes to support system security, as well more recently leading the implementation of some of the first battery storage installations in the UK.
Dan joins Camborne after a 2-year project with one of the UK’s largest utilities, looking at smart grid techniques on the UK’s 11kV and 33kV distribution networks. This included network connected battery storage, as well as other innovative intervention techniques to balance networks and support renewable integration. Dan has since led Camborne’s first battery storage installation and co-located Tesla’s first European grid scale system with a ground mounted solar pv site.
Dan’s background also includes extensive work in the not-for-profit sectors in Africa and Asia and he has a passion for engineering and clean technology as a means to reducing poverty through increased access to clean power sources
